Our local cafes and coffee houses have proved to be a safe haven during these turbulent times, with many of our followers reaching out to say how invaluable their local cafes have been – providing conversation, a change of scenery and for many, giving their days purpose.
But these moments wouldn’t be possible without our baristas who work hard to keep our local coffee shops open and who rarely get the recognition they deserve, especially when so many of them go above and beyond to make us smile and feel welcome. They memorise our orders to make sure they’re ready for our regular morning pop in, the greet us with a smile and make us feel welcome and calm, and they put our own needs above their own.
This is why we’ve created our La Marzocco Barista Hero initiative. In a time when community is more important than ever, we’ve been asking our followers to nominate their favourite local baristas.
We’ve then been posting about those who have been nominated twice a week, with quotes and lovely messages from those who nominated them. This is our way of saying thank you to all those baristas who work so hard and let them know how much we all appreciate everything they do for us.
At the end of the year, we will be announcing our overall La Marzocco Barista Hero who will win a selection of La Marzocco prizes, including a Sandqvist apron and rucksack!
If you’d like to nominate your local barista – send us a picture and an explanation as to what makes them so amazing on Instagram or email our Marketing Coordinator, Brittany Guymer, on firstname.lastname@example.org.
