Over the weekend of May 12th-14th, La Marzocco were back in the home of The London Coffee Festival, The Old Truman Brewery, as official event sponsors for the first ever Balance Festival.
Balance Festival is the UK’s largest celebration of the thriving fitness scene and wellness movement and the event schedule was unlike anything else we’d exhibited at before. Over 9,500 attendees could explore cutting-edge fitness classes, enjoy mouth-wateringly nutritious meals, learn from industry experts, discover exciting new brands and sit in inspiring seminars.
The health and wellness industry continues to grow and with growth comes innovation but also a captivated and enthusiastic audience. As such, we see many similarities between the speciality coffee scene and the health and wellness crowd. To make the most of these similarities, which also includes a strong sense of passion and appreciation of the finer things, La Marzocco ‘powered’ The Refuel Cafe at Balance Festival.
Over the three day event, we had top roasters Assembly Coffee, Terrone, Union Hand Roasted Coffee and The Roasting Party work The Refuel Cafe. Assembly Coffee worked the Modbar over the whole event and our other guest roasters ran coffee from Linea Mini stations. As Balance Festival put it, ‘Coffee before Cardio’, and this was a mantra that was followed by the crowds. The busiest periods on the bar were just before guests entered their pre-booked fitness classes. Allan Reeder were the official dairy sponsor and alternative milk options were provided by Plenish with DJ’s playing non-stop classics throughout the event.
La Marzocco’s friends at Ozone Coffee Roasters also played a key role as event sponsors, running multiple coffee zones across the three day event. The Ozone Mxlx Bar was lead by Head Roaster, Courtney Snowden, where Ozone’s R&D team had diligently taste tested their way through some awesome dairy alternatives to provide an option for every dietary requirement. The Balance Festival VIP Suite by Ozone housed some exclusive experiences for guests including coffee, bespoke cocktails and delicious treats. Ozone worked with Strada AVs on both of these exclusive areas. The team also ran an outside Coffee Bar at The Olympic Village for the Saturday mornings Urban Tri Challenge which saw 1000 Triathletes unite in the name of fitness for a unique challenge.
We always enjoy connecting with a completely new crowd and Balance Festival most definitely provided that opportunity. It was a phenomenal first year and we are so stoked to work with the organisers on next years event. A big thank you to all who came to The Refuel Cafe and to all the roasters who brought top quality coffee to the event. Until next year….
